A consortium of PT Tripatra Engineering, a subsidiary of PT Indika Energy Tbk, and Samsung Engineering, finally wins the bid for the construction of EPC’s production facility at Cepu Block.
The bid winner was announced last month, confirmed by Head of Executive Agency for Oil and Natural Gas Upstream Business (BP Migas) R. Priyono.
Then, the winner will handle the production facility project for The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) at Cepu Block in a border area of Central Java and East Java with US$780 million investment.
Considering on the announcement, BP Migas has also addressed an official letter to ExxonMobil Ltd, a parent company of Mobil Cepu Ltd (MCL) managing the bidding process since April 17, 2008.
Previously, 21 bidders took a part on prequalification process of the project within of April 25-28, 2008 and the best 6 bidders had been selected, namely consortiums of PT Rekayasa Industri-JGC Indonesia, Punj Lloyd Ltd-Hyundai Engineering, Daewoo-Wijaya Karya Insan Pertiwi, PT Tripatra-Samsung Engineering, Inti Karya Persada Tehnik-Chiyoda Corp-Chiyoda Int. Indonesia, and Hyundai Heavy Industries-PT Dara Transindo Eltra.
The production facility project will be contructed in August this year and is expected to complete in 2013.
Later, supported by the production facility, the production of Cepu Block, managed by ExxonMobil as the block operator with PT Pertamina (Persero), is estimated to escalate to 165,000 barrel per day in the first quarter of 2014.
